Pinspiration: Music Sheet Trees

Tis the season to have lots of Christmas trees around my home. Big, small and everything in between! It's one of my favorite items to try and make as well. There are so many fun cute ways to make a Christmas tree! So today, I'm making this one:

Here
Here's what you'll need, so you can make this too:
Sheets of Music (here or you can print an image from Google)
dowels (here or here <~currently on sale!)
Base (here or here)
Total cost: $13.77

First thing I did was draw a triangle on the back of the sheet of music. I did it on the back in case I don't cut straight or didn't trace the line straight. I'm making three trees, so I did this three times. Then I cut the triangle out.

Folding the triangles
Once the tress were cut, I folded each sheet of paper, like an accordion.

Yes, I used a thumb tack to poke the hole in each fold of the trees. Once I knew they were lined up, I used a pen to make the whole big enough for the dowel to fit.

Once the tree was on the dowel, I used hot glue to glue it to the base. Then I put a star sticker on the top and some mini presents under the tree!

Black and White Stripe Sweater

I really don't wear too many crop tops. This shouldn't be too surprising, since I am 30 after all. When I do wear them, though, it tends to be with higher waisted bottoms--which I also don't wear too much of (unless it's a skirt). Sometimes I'll find one that's really cute and I'll take a chance on it.

Well Target recently has had a TON of crop tops. So many of them are adorable, but I really can't wear them to work. But this crop top, wasn't too short, and I think because of the colors, I found a way to make it appropriate.

Because of the large black and white stripes, I decided to wear a black tank underneath, making my tank look like the next stripe. I also paired it with black jeans and booties to stick with the colors. I also added these round white earrings, to keep it from being too casual. It's a perfect lightweight sweater for these cooler days.

I've worn it a few times and I've added statement necklaces with some color or even color dangle earrings to add a little pop. But sometimes I like to keep it simple, like today.

Peanut Butter Oatmeal Granola Bites

I recently joined a BeachBody group challenge, and one of the things that they really focus on is a healthy diet. Not diet as in give-up-all-the-food-you-love-kind, it’s the what-you-eat kind. Far less depressing and more fun (am I totally being tricked into loving this more? I’m not even mad)! Well while doing the challenge (and since) I’ve been trying to find healthier, yet tasty meals and snacks. One of the girls in my group gave me this one, and I’m totally obsessed!

Found originally here

Here’s what you’ll need:
1 cup oats
½ cup peanut butter
½ cup mini chocolate chips
1/3 cup honey
1 Tbsp. chia seeds
The original recipe called for 2/3 cup toasted shredded coconut and 1 tsp vanilla, but I don’t like coconut and I totally forgot about the vanilla, and I still really enjoy these.

I doubled each portion in order to make more, but the above was how much the recipe I found called for. You’ll need a big bowl, mix all ingredients in this bowl. Once everything is completely mixed, roll into balls at whatever size you want and place on a cookie sheet. I like to make small to medium sizes, but it’s completely up to you. Once everything is all rolled out, place the cookie sheet in the fridge so the balls can harden.

I normally leave the tray in my fridge to keep the shape (and I also have the room), but you really only have to leave them in there for a few minutes. If you do take them out, place in an air tight container, but either way enjoy up to a week!

These are seriously addicting, so the hardest part about this, is not eating them all in one sitting! Enjoy!
