Book Review: The Unexpected Everything

The Unexpected Everything was one of those books that I hadn't heard of, but kept seeing everywhere. I didn't know what to expect, but since I kept seeing it, I figured there was a chance it would be good (also I totally judge [actual] books by their covers, and this one interested me).

So what is is about? It follows Andie Walker, a politicians daughter who thinks she has complete control over everything in her life. She knows that she will be in a program for aspiring doctors all summer long, she never dates anyone for longer than three weeks and her and her father talk as little as possible. But when her father is caught in a scandal and her support to attend the Young Scholars Program at John Hopkins for aspiring doctors is rescinded due to the scandal, Andie has to find something to do to fill her summer break. Little does she know how much one summer can change a person's life.

Since all the best internships and jobs have been taken, Andie takes a job as a Dog Walker to fill her days. When she is sent to the house of an awkward and cute boy names Clark to walk his dog, Andie is faced with rethinking her rules on dating. At the same time, since both her and her father are spending a lot more time at home together, and they are forced to face what drove them apart in the first place. The complete control Andie thought she had on her life is quickly unraveling and she has to learn to sink or swim.

It's def a fun quick read that reminds us all to be open to change. It can bring the best things in your life!
