This may seem like a silly thing to point out, but Thank-You
cards are super important. This goes for both your shower AND your wedding (and any other events that are thrown for you).
Wedding guests tend to spend a lot of money attending the different events
around your wedding. Which is why it’s SUPER important to remember to thank
your guests.

The thank you cards that you will (hopefully) write for your guests should say a little more than a simple "thank you for the gift, love Jen" sort of thing. So what do you say?
For starters, make sure you have the correct spelling of everyone's names. The rest of the card will feel a little impersonal.
Next, definitely write out what the person gave you. For example, if you got a crockpot, wine glasses, a cookbook and some wine, write each item out. If you were given money, DON'T write the amount in the card. Instead say something along the lines of "thank you for your generous gift" or "thank you for sharing in our special day". Money can be a funny topic with people, and you wouldn't want to offend anyone or make someone feel uncomfortable.
Then you should write how you plan to use/spend/wear said gift. This doesn't have to be a long story about some grand adventure, but a simple "can't wait to cook one of the meals from the cookbook in our new crockpot!"
Finally, end with a "thanks again for the wonderful gift/generosity/taking the time to come". And sign "with love", "love", or "yours truly".
There are so many places to find formats for writing thank you cards. Just remember to write them! This may be one of the biggest days of your life, but you're not the only one spending a lot of time and money for this event (yes, I am very aware it doesn't equal out, but it's also not their wedding so it shouldn't). A little extra can definitely go a long way!
Happy planning!
